What Are You Going To Wear For World Book Day?
World Book Day is on 1 March 2018. Over the years, I’ve done many Book Day costumes for my children – in fact, you name it, I’ve probably cobbled it together.
Not many of us has the time to create a costume from scratch. I confess that many of mine were bought online. But there’s always a good second-hand market for these on ebay so you can recoup much of the cost.
Another idea is to buy a few accessories and make up the rest from stuff you already have at home.
In case you can’t find any of these ideas locally, we’ve included links to Amazon.
World Book Day Costumes Roald Dahl
James And The Giant Peach
Fantastic Mr Fox
The Twits – There’s some great Twit beards and hair accessories available which will make a really comical costume. Just add old clothes.
Fantastic Mr Fox – Buy fox ears and tail set and wear brown and white.
The BFG – Just buy big ears and wear jeans and and old t-shirt finished with big buttons cut from card.
Sophie from the BFG – We did this a couple of years running with an old-fashioned nightie and Harry Potter-ish glasses.
World Book Day Costumes David Walliams
We love David Walliams’ books because of the clever language and brilliant characters. They have been translated in to over 50 languages and sold 14 million copies worldwide. A great choice for Book Day 2018. Our fave is Billionaire Boy.
World Book Day Costumes Harry Potter
I’ve done a good few Harry Potters with regular school uniform, a Gryffindor tie, a pair of HP glasses and my black waterfall cardigan as a gown. In case you can’t find these locally (and many party/fancy dress shops seem to be shutting down around us at the moment), see them on Amazon.
