Lego Friends Amusement Park Roller Coaster – what a ride!
Lego Friends Amusement Park Roller Coaster was awarded Toy of the Year 2017 in the annual TOTY awards. According its website www.toyawards.org (sourced 24/4/17), these US awards are “…frequently referred to as the “Oscars” of the industry”.

We are well-acquainted with Lego Friends in our house – my daughters loved building and playing with their sets. They are designed the Lego Friends (main characters: Stephanie (confident natural leader), Olivia (environmentalist), Emma (fashionista), Mia (animal lover) and Andrea (musician), have their own YouTube channel. This is where lots of children find them first.

According to NPR (and sourced on Wikipedia 24/4/17), Lego Friends are “one of the biggest successes in Lego’s history “. Introduced in 2012, the theme brought in the “mini-doll” figures, which are about the same size as the traditional mini-figures but are more detailed and realistic.

According to Amazon purchaser The Laughing Family (review posted 15/8/16 and sourced 24/4/17) Lego Friends Roller Coaster is “awesome”. They go on to describe it as “Very Entertaining & Fun! Well worth the big price and timely build!”
The set includes the roller coaster, ferris wheel and drop tower. The friends can buy photos after they have enjoyed the rides and stop at the refreshment stalls too. Be prepared for a huge box – it measures 94 x 37.8 x 48cm. Lego’s age range for this toy is 8-12 years.
