Current popular authors include David Walliams, Liz Pichon and Tom Fletcher. And these are the names that feature on the best-selling book lists for children.

Now more than ever, children and young people are reading more books on their Kindles and electronic devices. Furthermore, they get recommendations via YouTube and other social media, as well as publications designed especially for younger people.

A great way of promoting books to younger people is World Book Day, a charity event held annually in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the first Thursday in March.

Books make brilliant presents for children of all ages. Babies are never too young to start reading. There are many first books for the youngest children out there.
